Project "Steal Like an Artist"

Remember Austin Kleon's saying, 'Steal like an Artist?' He didn't mean copying but finding ideas in the world around us and creating something new.
I decided to try this thing on embroidery. I researched many pictures of antique embroidery pieces on museum pages, which are inspirational, and I will try to repeat what I saw, adding my knowledge and modern technologies.

I offer you the opportunity to dive into the past to make the future.

I started that project on my Instagram account, and the first two episodes are available there. To access them, tap on the picture below.

In Episode 3, a beautiful dress from 1900 inspired me to explore the appliqué technique. Today's methods make this process much faster, making it perfect for our fast-paced world.
